The following article was taken from The Independent's 'The Information' magazine, 5th August 2000. The article covered the 50 best swimming pools in the world. Ingleton Swimming Pool came in at number 37, just ahead of the Lourdes Sanctuary in France! There was no picture alas and the article was pretty factually inaccurate, putting the pool in Lancashire instead of Yorkshire (a brave thing to do around here!), and having the pool still filled from the river, but hey - we're in the top 50 pools in the world, so let's not quibble! :
